I’m the publisher at CamCat Books, a lifelong voracious reader, spurious writer, serial entrepreneur, and mom to two fabulous daughters and a killer Maltese named Abbie.

Nobody really likes talking about themselves, right? But you’re here because you want to know a little bit about my story. In a previous life, before owning my own business, I was a software engineer and project manager. Geeky and boring. But, in 2006, that changed, when I started Trident Technologies.

I’ll talk more about my adventures with Trident and entrepreneurship in these posts. But the short version of the story is that we grew to 400 employees and in 2015 ranked #68 on the Inc 500 list. In 2018, after 12 years, I felt I’d given as much as I could to Trident and taken it as far as I could. The opportunity to sell and spend the rest of my life following a passion couldn’t be resisted.

I started off learning about the publishing industry because, after a hundred query letters that failed to win the approval of a single agent, I thought I’d self-publish my own novel. But I soon realized that, with the right team, I could publish other people’s books. CamCat Books opened for submissions in 2019. In June of 2020, we published our first title, Dead Air. It’s been a wild ride ever since!

Working with books every day, and with the people who love books every day, is truly my dream job. I know I’ve started this site/blog really late in the game. Don’t judge. We’ve been busy building the CamCat team, finding new authors, and publishing some amazing books. I wouldn’t have changed a single day of it.
